AdvanSix is a global leader in providing customers with high-performance specialty materials, including fluorine products; specialty films and additives; advanced fibers and composites; intermediates; specialty chemicals; electronic materials and chemicals; and technologies and materials for petroleum refining.

The I&E Technician works five (5) eight (8) hour shifts however conditions in production can change rapidly and may require adjusting to schedule changes or respond to emergency call-ins and other needs in a plant that operates on a 24/7 basis. The job requires the individual to work in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humid, rain, snow, etc.).

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs and documents maintenance calibrations, installation, fault diagnosis, repair of electronic, electrical, mechanical and pneumatic instruments and systems
  • Maintains, constructs, repairs and overhauls instrument systems, devices and peripheral equipment
  • Responsible for performing all compliance and scheduled preventative, predictive maintenance
  • Performs troubleshooting on all Instrument systems and process control using P&ID and electrical schematics
  • Actively participate in plant safety programs and maintains a knowledge and understanding of Process Safety Management, OSHA requirements, and API standards
  • Responsible for the safe and proper management and handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements
  • Required to enter and work in confined spaces
  • Participate in all aspects of AdvanSix Operating Systems  

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with electrical design and repair, communication devices, instrument and electrical codes, standards and plant engineering specifications in an industrial/manufacturing and/or chemical plant industry
  • Expected to have an ISA Certification or successfully pass the ISA Certification Exam for Instrument Technicians program within 24 months of initial date of hire

Additional Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 4 year apprenticeship and/ or formal training in area of specialty is preferred
  • Associates degree or higher degree is preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to perform physical labor associated with jobs
  • Ability to work at elevated heights – greater than 50 feet
  • Comfortable entering and working in confined spaces
  • Strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a safe work space based on following standard work
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action within an industrial setting
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate through multiple layers of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and successfully complete tasks of progressive responsibility and complexity
  • Must be able to work overtime and provide off hours support in order to continue 24/7 plant operations
