Position Summary: The Maintenance Laborer works five (5) eight (8) hour shifts however conditions in production can change rapidly and may require adjusting to schedule changes or respond to emergency call-ins and other needs in a plant that operates on a 24/7 basis. The job requires the individual to work in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humid, rain, snow, etc.).
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Operates fork truck, backhoe and front-end loader
- Provides routine housekeeping duties
- Act as relief person for material handler and laboratory assistant position
- Responsible for the safe and proper management and handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements
- Actively participate in plant safety programs and maintains a knowledge and understanding of Process Safety Management, OSHA requirements, and API standards
- Responsible for the safe and proper management and handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements
- Required to enter and work in confined spaces
- Participate in all aspects of AdvanSix Operating Systems
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Basic understanding of chemical plant manufacturing environment
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to work on an 8-hour shift schedule.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to perform physical labor associated with jobs
- Possess a strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes
- Ability to work at elevated heights – greater than 50 feet.
- Comfortable entering and working in confined spaces.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a safe work space based on following standard work.
- Demonstrated ability to work and take corrective actions within an industrial setting.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate through multiple layers of an organization.
- Must be able to work overtime and provide off hours support in order to continue 24/7 plant operations
