Position Summary: The
Safety Specialist provides global support for driving
safety excellence. This position focuses on the implementation of effective
operating mechanisms that assure regulatory compliance, management of Health and Safety programs, achievement of performance
excellence at the operating line level, and supporting a mature health and safety culture via
the systematic processes.
Duties and
Responsibilities:

Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety excellence and a passion for occupational safety
·
Lead by example and engage and inspire employees
daily to want to work safely and look out for their co-workers’ well-being
·
Support sustainability efforts to reduce waste
streams to drive towards a minimal waste manufacturing process.
·
Support programs for recycling of paper and
plastic goods, electronics and packaging waste
·
Work with operations and technical teams to
identify process waste reduction opportunities
·
Support the implementation of health and safety programs and
practices consistent with the regulatory and corporate requirements
·
Provide technical support across the
organization
·
Assist in evaluating performance and developing
trends to identify areas of focus for improvements
·
Provide hands-on technical involvement on
issues, programs, and processes involving compliance with health and safety standards and
policies
·
Provide technical support for health and safety programs and
procedures
·
Support HSE activities and teams to improve and
drive the health and safety maturity level via Continuous Improvement
·
Support line level engagement with health and safety programs
by spending in the time operating areas
·
Assist the development, implementation, and
verification of the site’s compliance training programs
·
Assist and support the operating areas on a 24/7
basis as needed. (i.e. plant turn a rounds)
