Position Overview: The Senior Industrial Hygienist will provide advanced technical leadership and strategic oversight for comprehensive industrial hygiene programs across complex organizational environments. This role requires expertise in anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling workplace health, wellbeing and safety risks while driving proactive industrial hygiene initiatives and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead comprehensive industrial hygiene program development and implementation across multiple sites or business units
- Conduct sophisticated exposure assessments and complex workplace health risk evaluations
- Design and implement advanced industrial hygiene monitoring strategies
- Develop comprehensive risk mitigation plans and engineering control recommendations
- Provide expert-level guidance on occupational health and safety compliance
- Mentor junior industrial hygiene professionals and establish best practices
- Conduct advanced qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments using specialized instrumentation
- Perform thorough root cause analyses for occupational health incidents
- Develop and deliver advanced training modules on industrial hygiene programs
- Collaborate with site level leadership to integrate industrial hygiene strategies into broader organizational safety objectives
- Prepare detailed regulatory compliance reports and documentation
- Evaluate and recommend advanced personal protective equipment (PPE) solutions
- Conduct comprehensive industrial hygiene audits and assessments
- Develop and implement innovative workplace health, wellbeing and safety intervention strategies
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Health Sciences, or closely related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years progressive experience in industrial hygiene
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification, or ability to achieve certification
- Demonstrated expertise in comprehensive workplace health and safety risk management
- Advanced knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, ISO and other relevant regulatory standards
- Proven track record of developing and implementing complex industrial hygiene programs
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis, statistical evaluation, and reporting
- Expertise in using advanced industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
- Experience in high-risk or specialized industrial environments
- Demonstrated experience in developing predictive industrial hygiene models
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required
- Occasional travel to multiple work sites may be necessary
