Position Summary: The Supply Planning Specialist is responsible for initiatives related to shipments and ensuring a high level of efficiency across the supply chain through all stages to maintain replenishment and production schedules that vary based on demand requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute and maintain the monthly SIOP (Sales Inventory and Operations Planning) and all associated initiatives to achieve on time shipments to meet internal and external needs
- Drive efficiency across the supply chain through planning and forecasting material replenishment to customer base and supportive terminals that anticipates and adapts to variable demand requirements in support of the operating plan (SIOP)
- Manage terminal demand/replenishment needs while maintaining monthly SIOP goals and initiatives
- Own railcar shipment management through system processes, drill coordination, and stake holder communications i.e. rail partners internal and external.
- Support and expand on all opportunities to level load the plan to drive improvements in inventory, on-time-delivery, fulfillment, cycle time, capacity management, and growth
- Own Frankford direct raw materials in support of operations (Caustic/Sulfuric/etc)
- Lead/Support initiatives to streamline systems and process; work with business group to identify areas for process improvement at all levels of the operation
- Facilitate communication with Product Managers, Sales, Customer Service, Supply Planning Specialists and/or other Planners to provide insight and direction for specific inventories to balance both internal and external needs
- Recognize forward risks in the supply plan (SIOP) and accurately communicate implications with proposed solutions
- Liaise between many departments, e.g., procurement, logistics, finance, sales/commercial, and plant operations
- Work with Supply Chain Planning team to support and maintain appropriate inventory targets and/or Days of Supply
- Own and maintain the forecasting tools and spreadsheets; automate files to save time and increase planning accuracy
Basic Qualifications:
- Supply Chain, or related field or equivalent organizational experience
- Six Sigma Greenbelt certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or production scheduling
Additional Qualifications:
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience in chemical and/or refining industry
- In-depth knowledge of SAP
- Finance and/or accounting knowledge a plus (reconciliation)
- Knowledge of sales and operations planning processes
- Understanding of 24-hour bulk production facility along with familiarity with truck/marine/rail modes of shipment preferred
