Position Summary: The Technical Engineering Leader is responsible for driving continuous improvements in processes, production and quality.   This role includes responsibility over Process Safety Management (PSM) elements to ensure safe, stable and sustainable operations that are regulatory compliant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Driving sustained improvements in safety, attainment, yield, quality, and cost through daily production support, non-capital process optimizations and improvements and process engineering for capital upgrades leveraging support as needed.
  • Manage OSHA-PSM elements including management of change, pre-startup safety review, standard operating procedures, incident investigation, and process hazards analysis.
  • Troubleshoot area process issues and de-bottleneck systems to maintain safety and environmental compliance and/or maximize production.
  • Implement robust control plans for process improvements by fully utilizing DCS (distributed control system) capabilities.
  • Manage minor capital project development and execution and leverage AdvanSix capital team for major project development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in production, process and/or manufacturing engineering within the chemical, petroleum, or polymer industrial manufacturing environments
  • 2-3 years of experience in engineering or manufacturing leadership strongly preferred

Additional Qualifications:

  • Proven history of delivering productivity through non-capital improvements and capital projects of all sizes
  • Deep experience in the fundamentals of production optimization and process design for a broad range of unit operations including reaction and distillation
  • Strong process and mechanical troubleshooting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills enterprise
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with hourly and salaried coworkers at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated leadership in behavioral safety
  • Strong computer skills, including process monitoring and process simulation and design.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

The expected base pay for this position is $104,600 – $156,800

We offer a range of market-competitive total rewards that include periodic pay rate adjustments based on market competitiveness. Hired applicants will be eligible for paid holidays, paid time off including vacation, eligibility to purchase company stock, tuition reimbursement, and a 401K with a competitive company match.  Certain roles may be eligible for discretionary financial benefits such as incentive pay, equity awards, and participation in a deferred compensation plan.

The pay range, incentives and benefits listed above are general guidelines only and not a guarantee of total compensation or benefits. The final offer will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to, the responsibilities of the job, experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as the job location, applicability of a collective bargaining agreement, length of service, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
