On soil with a pH of 8.5 and electrical conductivity of 0.13 mmho/cm, would ammonium sulfate be a good fertilizer source for row crops?
Given the high pH and low electrical conductivity, the soil in question is likely a calcareous soil with a limited amount of sodium carbonate. Accordingly, ammonium sulfate would be a desirable fertilizer source for row crops – not only for supplying essential plant nutrients like nitrogen and sulfur, but also for increasing phosphorus and micronutrient availability to those crops.
