Introduction
AdvanSix Inc. is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement (“Statement”) details the steps we take to protect your personal information when you visit our websites or use an online application that contains a link to this Statement (collectively, the “Sites”). It describes the types of information we collect, how we use information collected through our Sites, how we share information with others, and your choices. This Statement describes how to access, update, or correct your information along with the steps we take to protect your personal information.
Your Consent
Please take a few minutes to review this Statement before using our Sites. By using our Sites, you are consenting to the collection, use and disclosure of your information as set forth in this Statement. If you do not agree to be bound by this Statement, you may not access or use our Sites.
This Statement is Part of Our Terms & Conditions
This Statement is part of the Terms & Conditions that govern your use of our Sites. A link to our Terms & Conditions is provided at the bottom of each page of our Sites.
Types of Information We Collect
Information You Manually Provide. AdvanSix collects the information you manually provide (using your keyboard, mouse, or touchpad) when you use our Sites. On certain pages, we may ask you for personal information to provide a service or carry out a transaction that you have requested. You may also provide some personal information to us when you contact us (e.g., with a comment, inquiry, or customer support request). The personal information we collect or receive may include: contact details, such as your name, title, company/organization name, e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers and physical address; information about your company and job function; your e-mail marketing preferences; financial information (including credit card or account information); information, such as your nationality and country of residence, that allows us to determine your eligibility under export control regulations to receive information about certain technologies; information used to customize and facilitate your use of our Sites, including login and technical information; inquiries about and orders for our products and services; information that assists us in identifying the products and services that best meet your requirements; event registration information; and feedback from you about our Sites and our products and services generally. You are not required to provide any of this information, but if you do not, we may not be able to provide you the requested service or complete your transaction.
Information from your browser or device. AdvanSix collects information that is sent to us automatically by your web browser or mobile device. This information typically includes your IP address, the name of your operating system, the name and version of your browser, the date and time of your visit, and the pages you visit. The information we receive may depend on your browser or device settings. The technical information we receive from your web browser and device may or may provide your name. However, we may combine it with other information in an attempt to identify you, or we may combine that technical information with other data linked to you.
Information Collected by Cookies and Other Technologies. A “cookie” is a small file placed on your device when you visit a site that can be understood by us or other parties that issued the cookie. We use cookies and other technologies, including device identifiers, to collect information and support certain features of our Sites. For example, we may use these technologies to:
- collect information about the ways visitors use our Sites—which pages they visit, which links they use, and how long they stay on each page;
- support the features and functionality of our Sites – for example, to save you the trouble of reentering information already in our database or to prompt the settings you established on previous visits;
- personalize your experience when you use our Sites; and
- improve our marketing efforts, including through use of targeted advertising.
Cookie categories
The type of cookie that may be used on AdvanSix’s Sites can be put into 1 of 4 categories: Strictly Necessary, Performance, Functionality Profile and Advertising.
1. Strictly Necessary
These cookies are essential, as they enable you to move around our Sites and use their features, particularly in connection with information searches and order placement. Without these cookies, services you have asked for cannot be provided. These cookies do not gather information about you that could be used for marketing or remembering where you have been on the internet. An example of a strictly necessary cookie is a “shopping basket cookie,” which is used to remember the products that you wish to purchase when you add products to your shopping basket or proceed to checkout.
2. Performance Cookies
These cookies collect information about how you use our Sites, for example which pages you go to most often and if you get any error messages from certain pages.
These cookies are not used to target you with online advertising. Without these cookies we cannot learn how our Sites are performing and make relevant improvements that could better your browsing experience. Examples of performance cookies that our Sites use include Google and Adobe Analytics (see further discussion below).
3. Functionality Cookies
These cookies allow our Sites to store information that you provide such as your site language preferences and to store technical information useful for your interactions with our Sites. For instance, they remember your user ID and elements of your user profile. They also ensure that your experience using the Sites and AdvanSix’s marketing efforts are relevant to you.
4. Advertising Cookies
These cookies may be used to deliver advertisements that are more relevant to you and your interests. They may also be used to limit the times you see an advertisement as well as help to measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. Although these cookies may track your visits to other websites, they do not usually know who you are.
Without these cookies, online advertisements you encounter will be less relevant to you and your interests.
If you do not wish to receive cookies, you may set your browser to reject cookies or to alert you when a cookie is placed on your computer. Although you are not required to accept cookies when you visit our Sites, you may be unable to use all of the functionality of our Sites if your browser rejects our cookies.
Information About Third-Party Cookies and Interest-Based Advertising
In addition to the cookies AdvanSix delivers to your computer or mobile device through our Sites, certain third parties may deliver cookies to you for a variety of reasons. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our Sites (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google and Adobe on servers in the United States. To learn more about Google Analytics click here. To learn more about Adobe Analytics click here.
Other third parties may deliver cookies to your computer or mobile device for the purpose of tracking your online behaviors over time and across nonaffiliated websites and/or delivering targeted advertisements either on our Sites or on other websites. For information about how to limit the data that third parties receive about you, please see “Your Choices” below.
How We Use Information Collected Through Our Sites
Generally, we use the information we collect through our Sites:
- Services and transactions. We use your personal information to deliver services or carry out transactions you have requested, including, but not limited to, providing information on AdvanSix products or services, registering purchased products, processing product orders, handling warranty claims, replacing product manuals, answering customer service requests, and facilitating use of our Sites.
- Security, credit or fraud prevention purposes. We may use information we have collected in order to detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, intellectual property infringement, violations of our Terms & Conditions, violations of law or other misuse of the Sites.
- To provide you with a personalized experience when you use our Sites. We strive to make our Sites easier to use by eliminating the need for you to repeatedly enter the same information or by customizing our Sites to your particular preference or interests.
- To contact you with special offers and other information we believe will be of interest to you (in accordance with any privacy preferences you have expressed to us). We may use your personal information to inform you of products or services available from AdvanSix in which you may be interested and to send you surveys regarding your use of AdvanSix products and services.
- Website and product improvement. We may use your personal information to perform business analyses or for other purposes to improve the quality of our business, our Sites and AdvanSix products or services (including new products or services).
- Employment Applications. In connection with a job application or inquiry, you may provide us with information about yourself, such as a resume or curriculum vitae. We may use this information throughout AdvanSix for the purpose of employment consideration. If your application or inquiry is unsuccessful, we will keep the information for future consideration for a limited period of time, unless you direct us not to do so.
- For any other purpose identified in an applicable privacy notice, click- through agreement or other agreement between you and us.
How We Share Information with Others
With Third–Party Service Providers. AdvanSix contracts with other companies to provide services on our behalf, such as hosting websites, sending out information, conducting surveys, processing transactions, analyzing our Sites and performing business and other analyses to improve the quality of our business, our Sites and AdvanSix products or services. We provide these companies with only those elements of your personal information they need to deliver those services effectively. Typically, they are required by contract to keep your information confidential and to use it only to provide services on our behalf.
With Distributors. In responding to a request made by you, we may share your personal information with companies that distribute our products. In those cases, we provide these companies with only those elements of your personal information they need to respond to your request. In some cases, we may seek your permission to share your information with distributors for marketing purposes other than responding to a request from you. However, we will not share your information for such marketing purposes unless we have obtained your express consent to do so.
In Connection with Transactions. In connection with certain transactions, we may disclose some or all of your personal information to financial institutions, government entities and shipping companies or postal services involved in fulfillment of the transaction.
As Part of a Business Transfer. Your information may be transferred to successor organization if, for example, we transfer the ownership or operation of our Sites to another organization if we merge with or are acquired by another organization, or if we liquidate our assets. If such a transfer occurs, the successor organization’s use of your information will still be subject to this Statement and the privacy preferences you have expressed to us.
To Comply with Laws and Protection of Our Rights and the Rights of Others. We may disclose your information when we, in good faith, believe disclosure is appropriate to comply with the law, a court order or a subpoena. We may also disclose your information to prevent or investigate a possible crime, such as fraud or identity theft; to protect the security of our Sites; to enforce or apply our online Terms & Conditions or other agreements; or to protect our own rights or property or the rights, property or safety of our users or others.
In Aggregate or De-Identified Form. We use information collected through our Sites to create a compiled, aggregate view of usage patterns. We may share aggregate information with third parties so we and they can better understand our user base. We may also share with third parties information about how particular individuals use our Sites, but only on a de-identified basis (“Individualized Data”). Individualized Data is not personally identifiable, but it does reflect the usage patterns of a particular Site user, as opposed to Site users collectively. We may provide basic demographic information (gender and age) in conjunction with providing Individualized Data. Third parties typically use this information for analytical purposes and to market their own products and services.
As Described in a Privacy Notice or Click-Through Agreement. We reserve the right to disclose your information as described in any privacy notice posted on our Sites, or as described in any click-through agreement to which you have agreed.
Your Choices
In general, we respect your right to make choices about the ways we collect, use, and disclose the information you provide on or through our Sites. We strive to provide choices to you at a meaningful time and in a meaningful place. For example, if you don’t want information about your visit to our Sites sent to Google Analytics, you may download an Opt-out Browser Add-on by clicking here. Please note that the Add-on does not prevent information from being sent to AdvanSix.
In addition, if you would like to opt out of having participating entities collect your online behavior for advertising purposes when you are browsing our websites, click here for a “Website Opt Out.” You will be directed to an industry-developed website that allows you to choose whether each listed entity may collect and use data for interest-based advertising purposes. It may be that some of the third parties that collect interest-based information on our Sites do not participate in the Website Opt Out, in which case the best way to avoid third-party tracking of your online behaviors may be through your browser settings and deletion of cookies.
Please note that the Website Opt Out is device-specific and the Website Opt Out is browser-specific. If you wish to opt-out from having interest-based information collected by participating entities across all devices and browsers, you need to take the steps outlined above from each device and browse.
Previously Expressed Preferences. You may change previously expressed preferences regarding how we use information you provide on or through our Sites. For example, if you have provided your contact information and receive periodic emails from us, you may decide to stop receiving those emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in an email’s footer. You may be able to change other preferences through an account you create on our Sites. Otherwise, please contact us using the information provided below.
How to Access, Update or Correct Your Information
If you have created a profile on our Sites, you may be able to access, update or correct your information through your account settings. Otherwise, you may need our help. Please contact us using the information provided below. We will respond to you within a reasonable time and, in any case, within the time limits established by applicable law.
In most cases, we will provide access and correct or delete any inaccurate information you discover. In some cases, however, we may limit or deny your request if the law permits or requires us to do so or if we are unable to verify your identity. If you seek deletion of information that you provided when you were a minor, please contact us using the information provided below.
Steps We Take to Safeguard your Information
AdvanSix is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We maintain reasonable administrative, physical, and technological measures to protect the confidentiality and security of personal information you submit on or through our Sites. Unfortunately, no website, server or database is completely secure or “hacker proof.” We therefore cannot guarantee that your personal information will not be disclosed, misused, or lost by accident or by the unauthorized acts of others. Further, we cannot control dissemination of personal information you post on or through our Sites using any social networking tools we may provide, and you should have no expectation of privacy in such information.
Children Under the Age of Thirteen
Our Sites are not intended for children or minors under the age of thirteen years without the permission of a parent or guardian. If you believe that a child has submitted personal information on or through our Sites without the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, please contact us at Privacy@advansix.com so that we can take appropriate action.
Consent to international transfers of personal information
The personal information we collect on our Sites or that you provide to us when you contact us may be sent to the United States or to any other country in which AdvanSix or its agents or suppliers maintain facilities. We may also store and process the information there. Although the laws that protect personal information in those countries may differ from the laws where you live, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy is protected.

Our Sites may provide links to other websites operated by third parties, including in some cases our third-party vendors. AdvanSix does not control these websites and is not responsible for their data practices.
Any information you provide to third parties on their websites is covered under their privacy and data collection policies and is not covered by this Statement. We urge you to review the Privacy Statement posted on any site you visit before using the site or providing any personal information.
This Statement May Change
We are continually improving and adding to the features and functionality of our Sites and the services we offer through our Sites. Accordingly, we reserve the right to update or modify this Statement at any time, without prior notice, by posting the revised version of this Statement behind the link marked “Privacy Statement” at the bottom of each page of our Sites. Your continued use of our Sites after we have posted the revised Statement constitutes your agreement to be bound by the revised Statement. However, we will honor the terms that were in effect when we gathered data from you.
