Ben Smith

Ben Smith is the Vice President of Chemical Intermediates at AdvanSix. Before taking on this role, he was Vice President of Procurement at SI Group, a specialty additives company, where he led global strategic sourcing and spearheaded the transformation of procurement operations, including an overhaul of the procure-to-pay process.

Prior to his tenure at SI Group, Ben held key leadership roles at INEOS Phenol, including Vice President of Sales and later Senior Vice President of Procurement, where he managed extensive global portfolios and contributed significantly to commercial and operational performance.

With nearly 30 years of experience in the chemical industry, Ben brings a broad and deep understanding of the sector, spanning business management, end-to-end procurement, and advanced market analysis.

Ben holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is known for his strategic thinking, strong negotiation acumen, and ability to lead diverse, high-performing global teams.
