Position Summary: The Chemical Loading Operator performs all aspects of safely transferring liquid bulk chemical products to and from trucks, rail, and barges.
Summary of the Main Responsibilities:
- Provides efficient and traceable movement of company products both in-bound and out-bound
- Perform standard work and follows standard operating procedures to ensure unit safety, quality, and production goals are met
- Responsible to take and interpret readings on various equipment, assessing any variation, standard troubleshooting, and taking action to address and return process to standard
- Maintain proper housekeeping and clean work environment for areas of responsibility
- Responsible for performing minor running maintenance of plant equipment
- Responsible for the safe and proper management and handling hazardous and non-hazardous waste in compliance with plant requirements
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of experience in Chemical Manufacturing or a 2-year certificate/degree in manufacturing is preferred
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card
Additional Qualifications:
- Chemical operations background/experience is strongly preferred (at least 1 year)
- Ability to work on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule that includes overnight and weekends
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to perform physical labor associated with jobs
- Ability to work at elevated heights – greater than 50 feet
- Comfortable entering and working in confined spaces
- Strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a safe workspace based on following standard work
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action within and industrial setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate through multiple layers of an organization
- Demonstrated ability to learn and successfully complete tasks of progressive responsibility and complexity
- Computer literate
The hourly rate for this position is $27.09
