Position Summary: The Commodity Leader is responsible for the procurement of indirect services to support 24/7/365 manufacturing operations across the AdvanSix enterprise. This role manages complex categories of services covering Health, Safety and Environmental, Medical, Rentals / Leases, Roofing, and others. This role leads the sourcing process for high dollar, high risk expenditures by developing and executing contracting / sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives, evaluating service offerings, recommending contractors / suppliers, leading sourcing events including e-Auctions, and negotiating strategic contracts for assigned categories and functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain category strategies for assigned services with the goals of mitigating risks, while delivering cost productivity to support AdvanSix business objectives.
- Communicate and align category strategies with stakeholders and Procurement leadership that include key industry trends and insights.
- Negotiate and manage multi-site service agreements for assigned categories and other agreements in collaboration with the Law function.
- Develop and maintain contractor / supplier relationships to adhere to contract obligations and drive cost productivity.
- Anticipate and engage business functions and operations leaders to solve potential contractor / supplier issues, mitigate risks, and address other potential failure modes.
- Develop and present monthly project, cost productivity, and working capital updates.
- Manage SAP Outline Agreements to facilitate automated PO transactions.
- Issue high dollar / high risk POs.
- Contribute to working capital improvements through extending contractor / supplier payment terms or other options.
- Deliver upon assigned individual, team and organizational metrics.
- Work location to be on-site at least three days per week and additional as necessary.
- After-hours and weekend Procurement support as scheduled.
- Collaboration with Accounts Payable to resolve issues.
- Travel as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or other sourcing related work.
- 3+ years of demonstrated indirect Procurement experience, preferably in petrochemical, chemical, or related industries working within a matrixed organization.
- Comprehensive technical knowledge of Procurement/Sourcing
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders internally and externally to achieve results
- Demonstrated experience in developing category strategies
- Demonstrated experience with multi-year contracts, major contract management, and supplier negotiations.
- Proven experience extracting relevant spend and market data, performing analytics, deriving insights on trends, identifying savings opportunities, and presenting options and recommendations.
- Experienced creative problem solver that approaches business problems with an open mind and applying curiosity to find effective solutions.
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization.

Preferred and Other Qualifications:
- MBA or master’s degree
- Prior Procurement experience with services and value chains for a chemical manufacturer
- SAP experience related to Procurement responsibilities, such as outline agreements, purchase requisitions, and purchase orders.
