Position Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support our Quality Assurance operations within a chemical manufacturing environment. This role works closely with the Quality Manager to ensure products meet internal quality standards and regulatory compliance through testing, process monitoring, data analysis, and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Quality Control Laboratory operations, including review and validation of analytical testing and documentation.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems to analyze trends and reduce variability in production processes.
- Participate in the investigation and resolution of quality issues and customer complaints through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and EHS teams to ensure quality requirements are embedded into daily operations and new product introductions.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, control charts, and inspection records.
- Conduct audits of processes, procedures, and systems to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP).
- Support training efforts and continuous improvement initiatives within the department and across the plant.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance or quality engineering, preferably in a chemical or process manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and SPC tools; experience with Minitab or similar software is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis and CAPA.
- Familiarity with quality system standards such as ISO 9001, GMP, or ISO 17025.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and interface across departments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent.
- Experience with LIMS or electronic quality management systems.
- Experience developing and utilizing PowerBI reporting capabilities
The base salary for this role is $69,100 to $103,700 annually.
