At AdvanSix, it all starts with Living Safety. Safety is a core value that guides how we operate and how we safeguard our teammates, our sites and our communities. To recognize teams who bring this value to life, the company established the Living Safety Leadership Award.
This year’s Living Safety Leadership Award has been awarded to a team from our Hopewell site. The team’s innovative approach helped improve how our medical surveillance program—which improves teammate health and safety readiness—is managed.
The team identified an opportunity to strengthen medical surveillance and modernize a largely manual process. By leveraging digital tools to improve visibility into employee status, scheduling and compliance, they enabled more informed, timely safety decisions across operations.
These improvements delivered meaningful results, significantly increasing on-time completion of required health checks and workforce readiness. The changes also made the process simpler and more efficient, creating a better overall experience for employees. This initiative stood out for its strong cross-functional collaboration and use of technology in a practical way to improve both safety and day-to-day operations.
The team has selected Appomattox Regional Library – Hopewell Branch to receive a donation of $5,000 designated to be used for education on digital transformation technologies to extend the positive impact of their efforts beyond our organization and into the community.
Through initiatives like this, AdvanSix continues its commitment to safety through a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
