May ammonium sulfate be used in pop-up fertilization?

Answer:

Yes. However, it is important to make sure you do not exceed the maximum amount of nitrogen (N) plus potassium oxide (K2O) recommended for your soil and crop conditions in order to avoid salt injury.  As a rule of thumb, limiting applications of N plus K2O to 10 pounds per acre is a good idea when applying fertilizer in the immediate vicinity of the seed.
