Operating Safely and Reliably
Inside the plant, Tai’s focus is on keeping operations safe and reliable. From overseeing ordinances and permits to maintaining equipment safety, Tai takes pride in keeping production on schedule. After nearly two decades at AdvanSix, he still thrives on the unexpected challenges that come with his role: “I do love coming to work. Every day I come in, there are always different things to do. It’s never repetitive, and once I resolve an issue, I feel really good.”
Teamwork Builds Success
For Tim Laigaie, success comes from bringing people together. Having started as an operator and worked his way up to his current leadership role, he’s seen how collaboration across teams drives both safety and success.
“The biggest thing that makes me feel successful is when the site, as a whole, gets a team win,” he says. “Seeing everybody from different departments, different backgrounds, really put their heads together—this place functions at its best when everybody works together. It’s the biggest key to success.” The teamwork cultivated by leaders like Tim, helps us continue to manufacture the chemistry that fuels countless industries.
A Family Legacy
Working at AdvanSix runs in the family for Nicole Lentz. As the fifth generation of her family working at the site, with her daughter now carrying the legacy into its sixth, she’s proud to keep a tradition that is over 130 years strong: “I started when my father worked here. My father moved on, and then my daughter started. It’s just so nice to let her experience what a great workplace AdvanSix is, just to see her expand her knowledge and develop skills—it’s really rewarding for me as a mother.”
Today, Nicole focuses on ensuring that what’s made inside the plant gets out to customers in a timely manner by rail or by road as a supply chain specialist: “It’s very rewarding to see the end results and the customer satisfaction.”
