AdvanSix team members are no strangers to getting their hands dirty in the name of giving back to their local communities, and recently, they rolled up their sleeves across two states to support Rebuilding Together, a national nonprofit focused on repairing homes and revitalizing communities.
In New Jersey, 20 local AdvanSix volunteers gathered to help a local family whose home had fallen into disrepair. The house had roof and window leaks that exposed the family to the elements. The team wasted no time addressing these and other pressing needs, including painting hallways and bathrooms, cleaning out gutters and the dryer vent, tidying the yard and even tiling the bedroom floor. All their hard work helped to make a difference in the family’s quality of life.
Meanwhile, in Richmond, more than 30 team members from our Hopewell and Chesterfield sites came together to restore the home of a long-time community member. Over the course of two days, volunteers contributed more than 650 hours of service. Their work included rebuilding a large deck, repairing gate structures, installing smoke detectors and freshening the yard with new mulch.
“Every year we give back through this Rebuilding Together event, and it’s always incredibly meaningful,” said Andy Girvin, Plant Manager at our Hopewell site. “It gives us an opportunity to connect with a local homeowner, understanding their needs and delivering quality work that will last—those are the things that make this partnership so powerful. Our volunteers take great pride in what we accomplish together.”

AdvanSix’s decade-long partnership with Rebuilding Together has improved living conditions for more than a dozen families across Virginia and New Jersey, helping repair and revitalize homes for those in need.
