Can livestock benefit from sulfur fertilization on forage crops?
Yes. When there is sulfur deficiency, livestock can benefit from the increased yield and quality of sulfur-fertilized forage crops. Sulfur promotes protein and chlorophyll formation. It also improves vitamin A content and palatability of hay crops and pastures. All of this translates into better animal performance.
