Can we broadcast 200 pounds of ammonium sulfate just ahead of planting in no-till corn? Is there any problem with seed germination or burn?
Yes, this is certainly a fine practice. You do not need to worry about seed germination or burning at those levels. It would equate to only 42 pounds of nitrogen per acre, which would even be fine in a 2″ by 2″ application, regardless of soil texture.
