Nevertheless, taking into account that ammonium sulfate is 21% nitrogen (N) and 24% sulfur (S) and depending on the amount of soil per pot and nutrient needs, you may calculate ammonium sulfate rates based on N (if you want to cover all of N needs with ammonium sulfate) or based on S (if you want the ammonium sulfate to cover S needs and only a portion of N needs).
